Job Summary
Curro Cape Town Private College seeks to appoint an SDF (full-time) for IT programmes at their Head Office in Cape Town, to commence duties in July 2026
Job Description
  • Facilitate classroom-based and workplace-readiness training aligned to QCTO Software Development qualifications and industry standards.
  • Deliver technical content in programming, systems development, and related fields in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Use diverse teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance learner engagement and success.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments in line with approved assessment plans.
  • Mark assessments accurately, fairly, and within required timeframes.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support learner development and competence.
  • Prepare and maintain assessment evidence for internal and external moderation and accreditation requirements.
  • Support and mentor learners throughout their academic and workplace learning journey.
  • Develop and deliver instructional materials aligned with curriculum and industry requirements.
  • Assess Portfolios of Evidence (POEs) and maintain accurate learner records.
  • Integrate current technologies, tools, and trends in software development into teaching and learning.
  • Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to learner support programmes and address barriers to learning.
  • Develop e-learning content and utilise Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle).
  • Engage with industry to ensure programme relevance and support workplace learning opportunities.
Key Skills / Requirements
  • Recognised qualifications in Software Development, Systems Development, Information Technology, or a related field (NQF Level 6 or higher).
  • Aligned International Certification (Cybersecurity, CompTia S+, CISCO, Microsoft)
  • MICT SETA registered Assessor and Moderator (compulsory).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in assessment and 3 years’ experience in facilitation within learnerships or similar programmes.
  • Practical experience in software development or IT-related roles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and development tools relevant to the curriculum (e.g. Java, Python, C#, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of South African skills development frameworks (QCTO, SETA, workplace-based learning).
  • Experience in assessment planning, moderation processes, and learner portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience facilitating the Occupational Certificate: Software Developer or related programmes.
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco).
  • Experience in online or blended learning environments.
  • Experience mentoring learners in both theoretical and practical settings.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g. cybersecurity, automation, RPA).
  • Experience in curriculum development and digital content creation
